This Halloween we received the best treat of all! We got a new puppy named Kelly Hamilton Wood/Carbonne. He's a Scottish terrier and 10 weeks old.
Kelly did great on the ride home (from Hemet to San Diego). He whined for a few minutes, but then laid down and took a nap in his crate. He's adjusted really well to our household. He has his own setup in the kitchen (a.k.a. the jail), equipped with his bed, water, toys and patch of grass. Kelly sleeps in his crate, up in our bedroom and is already sleeping through the night! Last night he took his first bath and got a nail trim. He visited the vet yesterday and is weighing in at 5 lbs.
Scottish terriers are known for having strong and bold personalities. They are an independent and self-reliant breed. Kelly is inquisitive, loving and playful, to say the least. He is investigating everything and testing the waters. We've already begun training and Kelly is eager to please (sometimes). We feel that we've lucked out. Kelly is a very good boy.
We're so excited about our new addition! Luna's even starting to come around. She sits on the stairs, watching his every move. They've come face to face a few times, but Luna isn't quite really to play. Kelly on the other hand is ready to whoop it up with her! Hopefully they'll become best buds.
